WHO WE ARE

Karen Jacobson, MA, LCPC, LMFT
Karen received her Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from Northwestern University and obtained extensive family therapy training from The Family Institute. Karen is a licensed marriage and family therapist and a licensed clinical professional counselor. With more than 15 years of counseling experience, she has a private practice working with individual, couple and family issues as well as parent coaching. Additionally, Karen was a therapist and program director for Catholic Charities working in an adolescent program. Working in conjunction with the Chicago Public Schools, she has vast experience with kids struggling with anxiety, self esteem/ self image issues, academic underachievement, conflicts with parents, relationship/ sexuality issues, divorce, blended family issues, teenage pregnancy and bereavement. She is the parent of two boys.
Lauren Bondy, MSW
As co-founder of Parenting Perspectives, Lauren develops and presents workshops and courses to parents and teachers on a wide variety of children’s developmental issues. She has presented to thousands of parents including being a keynote speaker. She holds a Master’s degree in clinical Social Work from Loyola University, Chicago. Lauren has experience in school social work, child welfare, bully prevention programming and meeting the social-emotional needs of gifted children. She has taught a variety of early childhood (0-3) “mom and tot” classes at the Jewish Community Center. She serves on the Advisory Board of NEPI (the National Effective Parenting Initiative) and has a private parent coaching practice. Lauren is the parent of three children.

Karen and Lauren both are certified parenting instructors
through the International Network for Children and Families.
